EQT Plaza

Gerrod designed renovations to the 11,000 square foot outdoor public space adjacent to the EQT Plaza building in Downtown Pittsburgh.

This project replaced an existing deteriorating brick plaza with pedestal pavers to solve drainage issues and waterproofing. The pavers in the new design coordinates with the brick pavers of the Cultural District sidewalks as well as the existing granite of EQT Plaza and Midtown Towers. The plaza also creates a focal point through its use of arbors. These arbors lead the eye through the space and screen views from an adjacent parking lot. The plaza can be separated into smaller zones designated by different materials, lighting and movable planters.
